"The best part of my job is looking at a person and thinking…. How can I help them"

Astrid recently joined Pryor Tzannes & Wallis with more than 16 years’ experience in litigation. Astrid started her legal career at the NSW Crime Commission, where she was responsible for confiscations litigation at the Supreme Court of New South Wales. As part of her responsibilities, Astrid briefed and instructed Ian Temby QC in final hearings and appeared before Supreme Court judges for the commencement of civil proceedings, interlocutory applications and final hearings. As a result of this experience she has a thorough understanding of Court Rules and Regulations, strong advocacy skills and a keen interest for problem-solving. In the context of complex litigation, Astrid’s experience has proved invaluable when she moved to working in private practice in a more commercial environment. She now enjoys helping her clients unravel a problem in the hope of avoiding litigation. This is because litigation is not always the best option, and by looking at all the evidence provided by her clients in the first instance she can assess the merits of their claim. Should litigation be the only option, Astrid is well placed to provide her clients with a strategy that benefits them commercially. In all areas of her work, Astrid takes the time to consider what is right for her clients and for the best outcome.
